Ecclesia Dance Company is a ministry of Ecclesia School of the Arts. Our company is designed to give intermediate and advanced students an opportunity to learn from experienced choreographers, perform throughout the year, and use their gifts and talents to share the gospel through the art of dance.

COMPANY DANCER REQUIREMENTS

• Placed in ballet level 3 or higher

• Attend company audition

• Be enrolled at ESA and taking at least two classes (one MUST be a ballet technique class)

• Attend ALL company rehearsals

• Have reasonable availability on weekends Oct-Dec and Mar-May

• Have a desire to share the love of Jesus through dance

COST

• Company rehearsal time is the same tuition rate as regular classes. We do not charge extra fees for additional added rehearsals and performances.

• Costuming will be provided by ESA, not at the expense of the dancer. Dancers are expected to provide their own shoes, tights, and leotard liners/undergarments.

• If the company takes an out-of-town tour, a room/board fee will be required, however, out-of-town performances are always optional.

REHEARSAL POLICY

All rehearsals are mandatory. Rehearsals will only be excused for illness. Any other absences must be pre-approved by the director.

PERFORMANCES

Ecclesia Dance Company participates in all shows produced by Ecclesia School of the Arts MV in addition to whatever classes the company members are enrolled in. This includes the Christmas recital and the spring performance. Other performance opportunities include:

• the annual LDC (Lynchburg Dance Connection) showcase (usually a Sunday in March)

• presentations at community centers or events

• select partner productions by MasterWorx Theater

COMPANY AUDITIONS  

2023-2024 Season

Saturday, August 12th from 1:30-2:30pm (at the studio)

Auditions are open to ESA students in Levels 3 and up. Dancers will need to fill out a registration form upon arrival. To complete the form ahead of time, pre-register HERE.

If accepted into the Company, the dancer and a parent (if under 18) will be required to attend the Company Orientation at the first rehearsal of the season. (If unable to attend in person, you may join us via Zoom.) 

VIDEO AUDITION: If students are unable to attend the audition, a video audition may be sent along with a $10 viewing fee. Email video auditions to Kristen@EcclesiaArts.com. Video auditions should include barre, center, and floor combinations.
