Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need to register by a certain date?

Not really. Registration is open the entire fall semester and the first two months of the spring semester. It closes at the end of February so we can start preparing for the spring recital.

What happens if I already registered but we changed our minds/our schedule changed?

Tuition collected upon registration is non-refundable. If classes have not started yet, you may withdraw from class(es) online with no penalties. If your original class selection no longer works, we’re happy to help you find alternatives to switch into. Switching classes does not incur any fees unless the tuition of the new class is higher than the original; in that case, you would just be charged the difference in price (likewise, a reduction would result in an account credit).

What happens if a class is canceled?

We do our very best to avoid canceling a class, but occasionally, we find it necessary either due to low enrollment or lack of a teacher. If a class in canceled before it begins, the tuition collected will either be refunded or applied toward other account charges. If a class is canceled mid-season, any upcoming tuition charges will be stopped and any performances fees (if applicable) will be removed or, if already paid, refunded or credited (decision to be made at ESA’s discretion).

I think my ballet student is more skilled than her classmates. Can we move her up a level?

Due to the formal structure of our syllabus and training, we do not move ballet students up after the first 2 weeks of classes (or the student’s first 2 weeks, if they join mid-season). During those 2 weeks, our teachers and directors will assess each student to ensure they have been placed in the correct level. If the staff determine that a student needs to be moved, that decision will be made at the end of the second week. After that point, all students will remain in their current level for the rest of the season.

Why am I being charged a fee with my online payment?

We are charged a fee each time we process a credit/debit card payment, so these fees are added onto the total for each transaction. To avoid this fee, you can pay by ACH (bank account).
