About the Instructors

Jason Donahoo & Rachel Holdren

Rachel and Jason have been teaching Swing Dancing in Lynchburg for about 2 years. They both started in Lindy Hop and East Coast Swing, but have since found their passion for the more modern dance, West Coast Swing. Jason has more than 10 years of dance experience, including a few years in theater. He also has a passion for relating dance to other skills and life applications. Rachel has spent the last 3 years learning both Swing and Latin dancing. Her creative abilities extend out further beyond dance into sewing, fashion, and graphic design. Between private lessons, volunteering, and hosting their own weekly dance, they offer tons of opportunities for swing dancing in Lynchburg. Together, their abilities allow for a style of teaching that is both unique and intuitive. They both compete in West Coast Swing Competitions (WSDC) and have learned extensively from private lessons with pros and feedback from judges. They ultimately hope to spread their love of dance and build the community in Lynchburg and surrounding areas to levels it’s never seen!
