Ashley Gartner has always loved the arts and began dancing ballet at the age of four. Before deciding to attend college, she danced with the North Carolina State Ballet under Wei Ni’s direction from 2011 to 2014 and the Brandon Ballet under Octavio Martin’s direction from 2014 to 2015 and was chosen as a demi-soloist for the Sarasota Ballet’s Summer Intensive Performance in 2014. In addition to company repertory roles, Ashley performed solos in Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Swan Lake, and the neoclassical ballets Jupiter, Venus, and Winter. She also performed principal roles such as Paquita, The Flower Queen, and The Sugarplum Fairy.
Ashley graduated from the University of Tampa in 2017 with a BFA in Graphic Design and throughout college took many ballet and jazz classes. She was chosen by one of her dance professors to help teach ballet and jazz at a local dance intensive. While dancing in Christmas and Easter performances at her church, Ashley realized dance could also be used to glorify God. She is incredibly thankful for the opportunity to teach at Ecclesia and is excited to share her love and knowledge of dance with her students.
